The gospel message is beautiful in its simplicity, but we can often overcomplicate it in our efforts to share it with others. We can convince ourselves that we need to use just the right words or have complex knowledge, ready for every possible question. But the Apostle Paul reminds us that the gospel’s power is in its simplicity and the fact that the Holy Spirit is the one who will do the work of transforming lives. We simply need to keep it simple: Jesus died on the cross for our sin and our faith and trust belong only in Him.

The gospel message - that God sent Jesus to save us from sin - is powerful in its simplicity. To a world that values power and influence, the idea that Jesus would sacrifice himself for the sake of others can seem like foolishness. But for those who embrace the gift of salvation paid for by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, it means being adopted into the Kingdom of God, enjoying His perfect presence forever.

What happens when division comes to church? From having a favorite pastor to preferences in music, divisions can rise up quickly when we take our eyes off of the main thing: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul calls out those divisions and reminds us that as followers of Christ, our goal should always be unity centered around the gospel.

1 Corinthians is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to a church in the city in Greece called Corinth. It’s full of both encouragement as well as loving correction as Paul reminds the church of who they are in Christ, the importance of love and unity, and a warning not to stray into the immoral practices of the culture around them. His encouragement and direction holds completely true and relevant to the American church in 2025 as we also strive to follow Jesus well in the midst of a culture drifting further and further from God’s truth.

The Way of the Wise

The Bible provides simple truths for living the Christian life that have stood the test of time. The wisdom God gifted to King Solomon was recorded for our benefit in the book of Proverbs - a treasure-trove of God’s principles for how to navigate the challenges of life. But are you ready to actually live those principles out day to day? Dr. Kevin Leman is our guest as we examine God’s wisdom together.

Can I Trust the Bible?

The Bible is God’s Word given to us through its 66 books by over 40 authors all inspired by the Holy Spirit. It stands alone as the most important book in all of human history, but many have also called the Bible into question. So why do we believe it’s true? What evidence is there that we can trust what it says? Can we really know for sure that it’s truly the Word of God?

Jesus Pursues the One

Sharing the Gospel starts with identifying a person in your life to intentionally come alongside and simply point toward Jesus. God will continually put people in our path to love and care for, but it takes shifting our eyes off of ourselves and being ready for who God brings our way. Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well shows how listening and encouraging just one person with the Gospel can have a life-changing impact that reverberates through entire communities.

The Arrival of Peace

Everyone wants peace, but why is it so hard to find? The world attempts to find peace by trying to remove conflict, hardships or enemies, but the nature of our broken world means that those things will always exist. True peace in life only comes from the addition of faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus overcame this world of sin through His death and resurrection so that we could have ultimate and lasting peace with God.

The Arrival of Joy

Jesus brings a joy that goes far beyond the idea of happiness. Because of His sacrifice for our sins and His resurrection defeating death, the joy we have in Jesus Christ is a joy rooted in a promised eternity in perfect relationship with God. No matter our circumstances in this world, we can experience true joy by remembering our salvation in Christ and His promise to come again.

The Arrival of Hope

When life gets hard, where does your hope come from? Our world tempts us to find hope in programs, technology, relationships or even political parties. While those things might help us feel better for a little while, none provide a lasting hope that brings security to our souls. The arrival of Jesus meant the arrival of hope - a hope rooted in an eternal, loving God who was providing a Savior, securing our future with an eternal promise of a perfect relationship with Him forever. Jesus brings hope like no other.
