Who We Are
Love God. Love People. Make Disciples.
To encourage everyone’s next step toward Jesus Christ, help families grow together in faith, and actively serve our community.
Jesus said, "Come, follow Me." He invited everyday people who believed to walk step by step with Him. We have several opportunities and resources to help you grow in faith and disciple those around you.
By regularly attending church services, you will learn applicable biblical truth and grow deeper in your faith while connecting with other Christ-followers. You will also learn how to worship the Lord through prayer and song, and to study God’s Word, the Bible. Join us on Sundays at 9:00am and 10:45am.
Join a Small Group
God designed people for relationships, and a small group is a natural way to make meaningful connections with others who are trying to grow in their faith together. Small groups are a way of keeping the big church small and personal. Highlands offers groups for men, women, married couples, singles, and counseling groups.
One way to experience personal growth and to connect in the community is to worship the Lord by serve alongside other Christians. Just like our bodies are made of many parts that work together, the church works best when each person plays a part in serving Christ by serving each other. Everyone can contribute their gifts and experiences to help other people grow in their faith.
Jesus Christ has called us to make disciples in the communities that we live our everyday lives in. Whether it is inviting your neighbor to church, sharing your testimony with a family member, leading a small group in your home, talking to your kids about Jesus, serving the church body, meeting with someone one-on-one, and so much more. We have numerous resources to equip you as you answer Jesus’ call to make disciples.
At Highlands, we strive to be the "Bride of Christ" as referenced in Ephesians 5:25-30. Here are our priorities:
B - Biblically Based
In strongly believing that "all Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness…" (2 Timothy 3:16), we desire to communicate God’s Word in a clear and practical way.
R - Reaching the lost
The clear purpose of Jesus was to "seek and save that which is lost" (Luke 19:10). As a church we desire to follow His example as we attempt to bring the good news of Christ to a lost world.
I - Intimate, Participatory Worship
We promote the heart-felt expression and participation of believers in worshipping God when we assemble together. We value variety and desire to reach and minister to the masses with our focus primarily toward a current musical style.
D - Demonstrative Love
In our conviction that love should be expressed and hospitality shown, (1 Peter 4:8-9; Hebrews 13:1-2), we endeavor to encourage our body to exhibit a sincere love for people that is demonstrated both corporately and individually.
E - Equipped for Service
Believing that our mandate from God is "for the equipping of the saints for the work of service…" (Ephesians 4:12), we strategically nurture believers toward Biblical life-change and equip them to discover and employ their giftedness (1 Peter 4:10).
