I love kids and love to have fun with them, mostly I want them to realize the importance of accepting Christ into there heart.

girl Leaders

Marissa Clark
7th Grade Girls

After coming to Highlands 2 and a half years ago, Marissa knew she wanted to serve in HJH because of her own experiences in middle school. Jesus has moved in big ways in Marissa’s life, and she wants to be there to experience that in the lives of these students. As a sophomore in college, Marissa is studying to be a Pediatric Oncology Nurse.

Jill Stevens 7th Grade Girls

I have been involved with Youth Ministry for most of my adult life and I just love the energy and enthusiasm of younger kids. I look forward to pouring into the 7th grade leaders and students this coming year.

Hannah Keenan | 7th Grade Girls

Hi I’m Hannah Keenan and I will be leading the 7th grade girls this year! I am a senior at Horizon High School and I’m heavily involved at Highlands. You’ll always see me greeting at the front door, helping in the nursery, or simply meeting new people! I plan to go to Liberty University and study education. I can’t wait for my first year to serve in HJH and help these students find their identity in Christ.

Edwina Behrens
8th grade girls

Edwina has been involved at Highlands Church for 9 years. The Lord called her to Junior High Ministry a year and a half ago. She gave her life to Christ as a middle schooler at church camp, and in turn wants to share that life-changing hope with our Junior Highers.

Kaesie Carroll
8th Grade Girls

Kaesie was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona.  She has been attending Highlands Church for 10 years, and accepted Christ into her life during her sophomore year of high school. Since then, Kaesie has discovered her love for worship music, and loves to praise the Lord through worship. Kaesie has a desire to lead and help junior high students through their lives by pointing them towards Christ.

HJH Host Families

Jeff and Jill Stevens will be opening up their home for both 7th grade guys and girls.

We have been at Highlands church since 2013 and together have served 30 years in church, mostly with youth ministry. We love students and are so excited to have the energy, excitement and sharing of the Gospel in our home.

Brian and Edwina Behrens will be opening up their home for both 8th grade guys and girls.

We’ve been married for 17 years, 2 kids Alyssa (sophomore) and Drew (8th grade). In our spare time, we love working out together and family boating. Brian is an excellent golfer and Edwina enjoys hiking. We love serving together in HJH and are so excited to host small groups for 8th grade in our home.
