Grow Your Faith

for grace you have been saved through faith

When you commit to follow Jesus Christ, you become part of God’s family and the Holy Spirit takes up residence within you to guide you and reveal God’s truth. You have a new relationship with God and a new future. All of Heaven celebrates– and we do too! (Romans 5:1, Romans 8:15-17, Luke 15:10)

We would love to give you some resources to help you get started in your relationship with Jesus.

Assurance of Eternal Life

A Christian has a relationship with God that is eternally secure. God is your Heavenly Father, and He will never leave you. Not only will Jesus give you joy in this life, but you will also get to spend eternity in Heaven. The Bible gives us this assurance. (John 3:16, John 10:27-29, Romans 8:38-39, Ephesians 1:13-14, 1 John 5:13)

What’s next?

Following Jesus Christ is a lifelong journey of getting to know God and growing deeper in your faith. God’s truth is meant to be lived out in our lives. If your heart and spirit have changed, your outward actions, ambitions, and priorities will follow.

Take your Next Step

Attend Church

As a follower of Jesus Christ, it is important to regularly attend a local church. You will learn to apply biblical truth and grow deeper in your faith while connecting with other Christ-followers. You will learn the importance of spending time reading the Bible, and of praying, which is simply having a conversation with God. To help you get started reading the Bible and praying, try a 31-day reading plan that focuses on the life of Jesus and your new life in Him.

Baptism

We believe that baptism is an outward public declaration of an inward private decision. When one is baptized “in the name of Christ” you are declaring your identification to Him. Visit our Baptism Page to learn more or to register for an upcoming baptism date. (Timothy 3:16-17; Philippians 4:6-7; John 15:5)

Attend Discover Highlands

Discover Highlands is held once a month on Sunday mornings from  10:30am-12:30pm. Tour the campus, learn about Highlands and its ministries, meet the pastors and their families, and learn how you can get connected. For more information or to sign up, visit the Discover Highlands page.

Connect in a GROUP

God designed people for relationships, and a small group is a natural way to make meaningful connections with others who are trying to grow in their faith together. Small groups are a way of making the 'big' church small and personal. Highlands offers groups for men, women, married couples, singles, and counseling groups. Visit our Groups page for more info and to sign up for a group.

Meet with a mature believer in Christ

There is no better way to understand the Christian life than to meet with another Christian who has followed Jesus for a long time. We have people who would love to share how they came to faith and then provide resources to help you learn more about God, the Bible, faith, and Christianity in general. The Bible calls this relationship “discipleship.” Visit our One-On-One Discipleship page for more info and to sign up to be discipled. (Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Timothy 2:1-2)

Talk with someone about your life

We all have different backgrounds but likely share similar experiences. No matter our past, God makes all things new, and He gives us His Word, His Spirit, and other believers to guide us in our new life in Christ. We provide biblical counseling and support in the areas of marriage, family, abuse, addiction, finances, and other issues that lead to stress and discouragement. Visit our Care and Counseling page for more information. (2 Corinthians 5:17, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Serve Others

One way to experience personal growth and to connect in the community is to serve alongside other Christians in service to the Lord. Just like our bodies function with many parts working together, the church works best when each person plays a part in serving Christ by serving each other. Each person can contribute his or her gifts and experiences to help other people grow in their faith. Visit our Serve at Highlands page to learn about opportunities to serve.

In the Community

Jesus Christ sent His followers out into the surrounding communities to share His message. Every Christian can make an impact for the Lord in their community and various spheres of influence. As a church, we provide multiple opportunities throughout the year to serve our greater community and share the love of Christ. Visit our Serve Our Community page to learn where you can serve in the community.

Around the World

Jesus commands believers to share the gospel message with the entire world. Highlands Church offers opportunities to participate in a variety of mission trips. International missions grow our faith as we are put in unfamiliar situations and places, and increase our burden for people who have not ever heard about Jesus Christ. Visit our Mission Trips page for more info and upcoming mission trip dates. (1 Corinthians 12:12, Romans 12:4-6, Mark 10:45)

Make Disciples
Share Your Story

Jesus Christ wants us to be His witnesses, and that means telling our personal story of how we came to faith. Tell your friends and family about your decision to follow Christ. Share the story about the difference He's making in your life. By doing so you are demonstrating your new life in Christ by showing your love and concern for others. Maybe an opportunity will occur for you to invite them to church.

One-on-One Discipleship

Discipleship is the process of intentionally multiplying Christ-like followers. It's a call directly from Jesus Christ to be His disciple and to help others do the same. If you're ready to answer the call to make disciples, visit our One-on-One Discipleship page. We're ready to equip you with the tools you need to make it a great experience. (Romans 10:14-15, 1 Timothy 6:18-19, Matthew 4:19)
